Still Pregnant.

So I'm still pregnant and still sick. I think maybe my body is waiting to get well before it decides to bring a new life into the world? I have been sleeping better thanks to my amazing midwife who prescribed me some Robitussin with CODEINE. Oh how I wanted to kiss her! It's definitely not as powerful as the cough medicine I've had when I'm not pregnant, but it's just enough to take the edge off and allow me to get a little shut eye.

So far my maternity leave has been going pretty well. I've gotten a lot done around the house and have been enjoying some one-on-one time with Violet. Plus my sister and her family are here from Australia and we are all sooo thrilled to see them! This is the first time she's seen me pregnant in person - with Violet she didn't arrive until after I'd given birth, so it's kind of fun to have her feeling for kicks and such!

I've been trying to love on my adorable nephew as much as I can with this big belly and cough - he is the happiest, sweetest little man and I am so so in love with him!

Tomorrow is my due date, and if I haven't had this little girl yet I'm having an ultrasound and non-stress test, and they'll schedule an induction date for me. I've heard some horror stories about inductions so I'm a little nervous about that...wish me luck!

  1. First time commenter long time follower. ;) I too was induced and had heard so many horror stories I was terrified. In my opinion, it was no big deal. I labored 11 hours until I got to an 8 and had to have an emergency c section so that was very unplanned since I had planned on no drugs...other than the pitocin of course. Besides the fact that giving birth is nerve wracking I wouldn't worry about an induction. I'm pregnant again too ;) my daughter is almost 14 months and I am 14 weeks pregnant. I'll be praying for a smooth delivery and birth for you though.

  2. AH! DUE DATE EXCITEMENT! Prayers, happy thoughts, and "Get well" wishes!

  3. Dear Lauren, each of my girls were born on week #40 and a half! they wouldn't come out so they gave me pitusin for the induction. Everything went GREAT, they were both huge, chubby, healthy babies (they now are 1 and 2).
Don't worry about induction, some babies are just way to comfortable in there and we need to give them a little push!
GOOD LUCK! you're looking very pretty by the way :)

  4. I was induced with my daughter and it was really great! So if that's the case for you don't be nervous. I personally had a wonderful experience with it.

  5. good luck, Lauren! i'm thinking about you guys!!!

  6. Just to add to what others have said, I was induced with both my sons and it went fabulously. Good luck, I hope she's here soon!

  7. Can't wait to hear when it's your Labor Day! Holden came the day after we scheduled my induction a week out. Maybe that's all the push this little girl needs :)
